Welcome to Makali Healing Arts
Marquita Kalithia | JAN 1
My name is Marquita, the heart behind Makali Healing Arts, and I’m grateful you’re here.
My path into this work began inside my own body: years of chronic pain, autoimmune thyroid dis‑ease, fibromyalgia, migraines, depression, and anxiety. My system carried the weight of it all. Fascia gripping past trauma. A nervous system stuck on high alert. Chakras out of balance. A body asking to be listened to.
Reiki became a turning point in my healing, especially during a time when it was too painful to be physically touched. It offered support through gentle, non‑invasive energy work and reminded me that healing doesn’t have to be forceful to be effective.
Learning to listen to my body with honesty and compassion, rather than fighting it, is what led me to this work. It’s the same grounded presence I bring to every session.
My approach is intuitive, trauma‑aware, and shaped by lived experience with pain and sensitivity.
Before each session, we check in about what your body is holding that day, physically, emotionally, and energetically. I design the session around your needs rather than a fixed routine. My hands respond moment by moment, allowing the work to unfold in collaboration with your body.
Sessions may include:
Swedish massage for flow and relaxation
Targeted trigger point work
Thoughtful deep tissue techniques (only where welcomed)
Cupping therapy for circulation and release
Reiki energy work
Sound healing to calm the nervous system
You can expect quiet, grounding sessions where you can simply be. Your pain, tension, emotions, and stillness are all welcome.
Healing doesn’t happen only on the table.
This blog is where I’ll share reflections on my healing journey, insights into chronic pain, fascia, nervous system regulation, energy awareness, and living in a sensitive body.
I’ll also explore the practices that inform my work, including Reiki, chakra systems, and astrology not as trends, but as tools for deeper self‑understanding and alignment.
Makali Healing Arts is growing in real time, and this space will grow with it grounded, honest, and embodied.
Thank you for being here.
With care,
Marquita
